Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how Prospekteer ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and handles information in connection with your use of prospekteer.com.

Prospekteer is a B2B SaaS platform. The information we collect relates primarily to your use of the Service as a licensed insurance professional. We do not sell your personal information or the prospect data you input into the Service.

Information We Collect

Account information. When you register: name, email address, agency name, and payment information (processed by Stripe; we do not store raw card data).

User Data. Prospect records, pipeline stages, notes, and other information you upload, import, or create in the Service. This data belongs to you (see Terms § 5).

Usage data. Features accessed, search queries, enrichment requests, and session activity. Used to improve the product and enforce plan limits.

Device and technical data. IP address, browser type, OS, and referrer URL, collected automatically for security and diagnostics.

Communications. If you contact us via email or in-app support, we retain those communications.

How We Use Information

• —Service delivery. Processing enrichment requests, generating AI Output, managing your account, fulfilling your subscription.
• —Product improvement. Analyzing aggregated, de-identified usage patterns to improve features, scoring models, and UX.
• —Communications. Transactional emails (account notices, billing receipts), product updates, and marketing with your consent. Opt out anytime.
• —Security and fraud prevention. Monitoring for unauthorized access, abuse, or Terms violations.
• —Legal compliance. Meeting applicable obligations and responding to lawful government requests.

We do not use your User Data to train third-party AI models, serve advertising, or build consumer profiles for resale.

Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in these limited circumstances:

• —Service providers. Cloud infrastructure (Supabase/Vercel), payment processing (Stripe), email delivery (SendGrid), and AI API providers (Anthropic). Contractually limited to providing services to us.
• —Enrichment providers. When you request enrichment, prospect identifying information (business name, address) is transmitted to data partners to retrieve results. Providers are selected with appropriate use restrictions.
• —Legal requirements. When required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or to protect rights, safety, or the Service.
• —Business transfers. If Prospekteer is acquired or merges with another entity, your information may transfer. We will notify you of your options.

Third-Party Data Sources

We enrich prospect records using commercial and public sources including property databases, government records, weather services, and business intelligence providers. This relates to commercial businesses, not to you as an individual.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these sources regarding the business data they maintain.

Analytics & Site Measurement

We use third-party analytics tools to understand how visitors use our marketing site and product. These tools help us improve the experience and measure conversion through the signup funnel.

• —PostHog. Product analytics — pageviews, button clicks, signup conversion. Once you sign up, your activity is associated with your account so we can analyze the funnel from marketing page through signup. Inputs in our forms are masked from any session capture.
• —Microsoft Clarity. Heatmaps and session replay on the marketing site to understand visitor behavior. Recordings mask sensitive form inputs and exclude authenticated portions of the product.

You can opt out of analytics by enabling Do Not Track in your browser, using a privacy-extension that blocks PostHog or Clarity, or by emailing us to request your data be deleted from those systems. Analytics opt-out has no effect on your account or your ability to use the product.

Data Retention

We retain your account information and User Data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel, we retain your data for 30 days to allow for export or reactivation, after which we delete or anonymize it.

Usage and technical logs may be retained up to 12 months. Aggregated, de-identified analytics may be retained indefinitely.

Security

We implement industry-standard measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, row-level security controls on our database, and access controls limiting employee access to User Data.

No method of storage is completely secure. We will notify you of any breach affecting your personal information as required by applicable law.

Your Rights & Choices

• —Access. Request a copy of personal information we hold about you.
• —Correction. Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
• —Deletion. Request deletion of your account and personal data, subject to legal retention requirements.
• —Portability. Request an export of your User Data in a machine-readable format.
• —Marketing opt-out. Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time via link in any email or by contacting us.

Because Prospekteer is a B2B service used to prospect commercial businesses, prospect records are generally not subject to consumer privacy laws such as CCPA individual data subject rights. Your own account information is.
