For Independent Insurance Agents

Built for the
independent agency.

Not for captive shops. Not for enterprise carriers. Not for wholesale brokers.

Independent commercial agencies are the backbone of how small American business buys insurance. The tooling built for them should reflect that — small-team workflows, per-seat pricing, agency-owned data, AMS-agnostic. Prospekteer is what you get when a prospecting platform is designed exclusively around the independent agency, not adapted from a tool built for someone else.

Honest about fit

Who Prospekteer is for —
and who it isn’t.

Software that’s "for everyone" is for no one in particular. We’d rather be the obvious right answer for independent agencies than the mediocre answer for everyone in insurance.

BUILT FOR
The producers and agencies we optimize the product around.
  • Independent commercial agencies of one to ten producers
  • Solo producers building a book from scratch
  • Multi-line agencies wanting to grow their commercial side specifically
  • Specialty agents in trucking, long-term care, mining, or other supported verticals
NOT FOR
The audiences we deliberately don’t serve well.
  • Captive agents working from carrier-supplied leads
  • Enterprise carriers running outbound at scale
  • Wholesale brokers and MGAs without retail relationships
  • Personal-lines-only agencies (we do commercial only)
How that focus shows up

Six product decisions
that follow from the focus.

"Built for independent agencies" isn’t a tagline — it’s a series of specific product choices that look different from how an enterprise prospecting tool would solve the same problems. Here are the ones that matter most.

PRINCIPLE 01
Per-seat pricing, no enterprise contracts
Free tier with 10 lifetime prospects. Paid plans start at $29 per seat per month. No annual commitments, no minimums, no procurement cycles. The pricing is small enough that a producer can expense it without a meeting.
PRINCIPLE 02
Your data, your export
The prospects you surface in Prospekteer are yours. Export them whenever you want, in whatever format. We do not lock the book inside the platform, and we do not sell prospect data to anyone — including to other agencies.
PRINCIPLE 03
AMS-agnostic, not AMS-locked
Prospekteer sits beside your AMS, not on top of it. Upload guides today for the major platforms; live integrations in build for EZLynx, AgencyZoom, and Applied Epic. You keep your AMS choice; we add to it.
PRINCIPLE 04
UI built for small teams
No 50-seat call-center features cluttering the screen. No quota dashboards, no team-leaderboard pressure, no enterprise audit trails. The interface assumes a working producer, not a sales operations manager.
PRINCIPLE 05
Multi-carrier by default
The cold opener does not pre-quote a specific carrier. The gap detection does not steer toward a captive product mix. Prospekteer surfaces the prospect; you bring whichever carrier is the right fit for that account.
PRINCIPLE 06
Built where independents work
Mobile Field Mode for the half of the day that happens in the truck. Territory Heat Map for the field day. AMS upload for the back-office. The product is built for the actual rhythm of independent agency work — not for the office assumptions of a captive shop.
Why this focus

Independents do most of the work.
They deserve tooling that knows it.

The majority of US commercial insurance is placed through independent agencies. Not by captive shops. Not by enterprise carriers’ inside sales floors. Not by wholesale brokers — they need retailers between them and the insured, which is what independents are. Independents are how small American business buys protection.

And the prospecting tooling almost universally fails them. Lead-list services price for enterprise volume and the data has been picked through a hundred times before it reaches the independent. CRM platforms assume an inside-sales motion that does not match how independents actually win business. Carrier-provided lead programs come with strings attached — appointed lines, captive product mix, kicked-back commission.

Prospekteer is what happens when a prospecting platform assumes the independent first. Per-seat pricing because that’s what independents can budget. AMS-agnostic because that’s what independents need. Multi-carrier neutral because that’s the entire point of being independent. Mobile Field Mode because half the day happens away from the desk. Vertical Intel because the specialty agents who carry the niches deserve depth, not a generic commercial profile.

Frequently asked

Five questions independent agency owners ask first.

Q01
What does "built for independent agencies" actually change about the product?
It changes who Prospekteer optimizes for at every decision. Pricing is per-seat starting at $29 instead of an enterprise contract. The agency owns the prospect data and exports it freely. There are no minimum commitments and no long-term contracts. The AMS integrations focus on the systems independents actually use — not the proprietary stacks captive shops are locked into. The product UI assumes a small team, not a 50-seat call floor.
Q02
Can a captive agent use Prospekteer?
Technically nothing prevents it, but Prospekteer is not optimized for captive workflows. Captive agents work from carrier-supplied leads and follow scripted product mix. The cold-prospecting depth, AMS-agnostic export, and multi-carrier framing here aren’t built for that workflow. You would be paying for capability you don’t use.
Q03
Is there a minimum agency size?
No. Prospekteer works for solo producers up through agencies of roughly ten producers. Above that, the workflow assumptions still hold but the per-seat pricing math becomes worth a conversation about volume terms. Below one — meaning you are still pre-license or pre-agency — Prospekteer is probably premature.
Q04
Do I need to switch agency management systems?
No. Prospekteer sits beside your AMS, not in place of it. We provide upload guides for the major AMS platforms today and are building live integrations for EZLynx, AgencyZoom, and Applied Epic. Live integration is included on the Agency+ tier; upload-and-export workflows work on every tier.
Q05
What if my agency writes both commercial and personal lines?
Prospekteer is exclusively a commercial-lines prospecting tool. The personal-lines side of your book is unaffected — Prospekteer simply does not engage with it. Some agencies use Prospekteer specifically to grow their commercial book while their personal-lines side runs on different infrastructure.
